THE head chef of Bohemia Restaurant has been crowned Young Chef of the Year by the prestigious Michelin Guide.
Tom Earnshaw was named the winner at a gala ceremony in Dublin earlier this week.
It was the highlight of a night that also saw Bohemia retain its Michelin star for the 22nd consecutive year.
The restaurant, nestled in the Club Hotel & Spa, now has one of the longest continuously held Michelin stars in the UK.
But, this was the first star awarded under the stewardship of Mr Earnshaw, who stepped up to the head chef role last year and has impressed critics with a series of tasting menus rooted in modern European cuisine.
Mr Earnshaw becomes the sixth Bohemia chef to have earned Michelin stars over the course of their careers.
He said: “To retain a Michelin star for the 22nd year, and in my first year as head chef, is an incredible honour.
It’s made even more meaningful by the Young Chef of the Year recognition. The restaurant has an extraordinary heritage, and my focus has been on respecting that while continuing to evolve the food in a way that feels relevant, exciting and true to our identity.
The star belongs to the whole team for their focus, consistency and ability to create meaningful experiences for our guests.”
Lawrence Huggler, managing director of the Club Hotel & Spa, said the award represented Mr Earnshaw’s “truly outstanding achievements and a strong endorsement of the huge commitment shown by Tom and the whole team”.
In December, Bohemia retained its place in The Hardens Best 50 UK Restaurants 2026.
