FIVE Jersey restaurants have been ranked among the top ten seafood restaurants in the British Isles, following new research by DFDS.
The study aimed to guide tourists towards the best seafood venues that might otherwise be overlooked, highlighting high-quality food and popular local favourites.
Popular restaurant Mark Jordan at the Beach ranked in the top three, with another four Jersey restaurants also making the list.
The restaurant, which is known for its top-quality local produce, including fresh crab, hand-dived scallops and sea bass, had an overall score of 7.53.
Just missing out on the top three was Roseville Bistro, which scored 7.52. Diners can expect an intimate atmosphere and French-style cooking, with dishes featuring locally caught lobster, oysters and sea bass.
In sixth place was the Bass & Lobster Restaurant, found along the coast road approaching Gorey. Its seasonal cooking and dedication to showcasing Jersey’s rich fishing waters earned a score of 7.13, with menu favourites, including bass, lobster and turbot.
Bistro Rosa followed in seventh place with a score of 6.13, praised for its market-fresh approach and reputation for classic seafood such as oysters, crab and catch of the day.
Completing the list was Jersey Crab Shack in St Brelade, which scored 5.74. As the name suggests, the restaurant is known for its crab dishes and shellfish platters, served with views overlooking the beach.
Guernsey took two of the top 10 slots with Le Nautique in St Peter Port coming second (7.99), and Hook in eighth place (6.05).
At the top of the list was Anglesey’s Catch 22 Brasserie (8.45), with the area also boasting fifth place eatery The Potted Lobster (7.25).
How were the results compiled?
The results were determined using Google Maps data, identifying top venues across the British Isles and scoring them based on food quality. Final rankings were calculated with a weighted system – 60% based on Google rating and 40% on the number of reviews.
