THE Jersey International Air Display’s finances are “heading in the right direction”, according to organisers – who have renewed calls for public support.

JIAD head of fundraising John Le Fondré said that it had been a “reasonable year”, but stressed that those behind the event were still pushing for corporate sponsorship and donations.

Last year’s Display was subject to funding concerns – with Islanders ultimately raising over £30,000 to help bridge a “shortfall in financial support”.

A drive for corporate sponsors for the 2025 event, which is set to take place tomorrow, was announced in December.

Organisers have also been appealing for donations through an online fundraising page.

Mr Le Fondré told the JEP that the Display’s finances were “heading in the right direction” but added that “we could do with some further support”.

“You do budget estimates and it’s only when things come through on the day that you know you’ve got your estimates right,” he continued.

But he noted that “the base of support” for the event had increased.

“We’ve got more sponsors out there and more supporters – we will need to be doing even more next year and getting out there even earlier,” he added.

“We have had a reasonable year this year, but we still need a bit more [support].”

Mr Le Fondré said he hoped Islanders would be able to enjoy “a really good display” tomorrow.

“It is a positive thing for Jersey – certainly that’s the feedback we get from the majority of people,” he said.
