THE year was 1966 and St Lawrence Primary School pupils were promised that if they won the Inter-Island Netball Cup their photo would appear in the JEP.
Except, it didn’t. The paper never published the photo, much to the disappoint of members of the netball team.
To make amends, and on the request of one of the pupils, the JEP is finally publishing a photo of the team – a mere 59 years later.
The pupils are, clockwise from top left, Juliet Wakelam, Lynn Pipon, Diana Le Touzel, Christine Le Maistre, Jayne Hamon, Margaret Howard and Susan Moon.
Their teacher was Marjorie Meyrick.
