VOLUNTEERS are still needed for this year’s Jersey Triathlon with two weeks to go until the popular event kicks off.
Organisers say they are looking for around 30 additional course marshals to ensure the 2025 race runs “smoothly”.
Volunteering was described as a “fantastic” way to get involved with the “lively” event, the most southerly triathlon in the British Isles.
More than 300 triathletes are expected to take part on Sunday 13 July.
It is the twelfth iteration of the race, which has been sponsored by finance firm Accuro for the past 10 years.
There are a range of categories and distances, including relay and the Junior Split Triathlon which takes place on Saturday, with the action kicking off at Jardins de la Mer on the Waterfront.
The race supports a local charity every year and is this year supporting Brighter Futures, which supports parents, families and young Islanders.
Brighter Futures chief executive Fiona Brennan said they were “honoured to be the charity partner for the 2025 Accuro Jersey Triathlon”.
She added: “This event not only promotes health and community spirit, but also
helps raise essential funds and awareness for our work with families and young people in Jersey.
“Every contribution makes a meaningful difference, and we’re excited to be part of such a positive, high-energy occasion.”
Event director Andrew Thomas said they were “incredibly proud to be celebrating a decade of support from Accuro”.
Mr Thomas said: “Their ongoing commitment has helped shape the Jersey Triathlon into a must-do race on the Island’s sporting calendar. Thanks to their partnership, we’ve been able to grow the event while staying true to our community values.”
Paul Douglas, Accuro co-founder and managing director in Jersey, said: “It’s been a privilege to support the Jersey Triathlon over the past decade and witness its evolution
into one of the Island’s most eagerly anticipated sporting events.
“At Accuro we’re committed to backing initiatives that unite the community,
encourage healthy living and celebrate personal achievement — values that the Jersey Triathlon champions so well. We’re proud of our ongoing partnership and excited to see what this year’s event has in store.”
