A CHARTERED accountant has been found guilty of giving false information to tax authorities in Jersey.

John Asplet was found guilty on Friday 13 June by the inferior number of the Royal Court following a four-day trial.

The court found that Asplet had changed financial records to help one of his clients pay less tax.

The activity was discovered during a tax audit by Revenue Jersey, and then referred to the Joint Financial Crimes Unit of the States of Jersey Police.

Asplet will be sentenced on 26 August 2025.
