A TRADE union has helped support a group of electrical apprentices through the provision of free tools and toolboxes.

Unite the Union presented the equipment to Paul Toudic, Ben Gibson and James Parry, who work for the Infrastructure and Environment Department

James Turner, regional officer for Unite, said: “Having been an apprentice myself, I am acutely aware that any level of support Unite can provide to workers to aid in their employment is of great benefit, a good start on the road to a career and reduces some of the costs involved to employers and employees.

“The opportunity to support apprentices is something we are proud to be part of – any apprentice who is a Unite member is entitled to this initiative.”

Unite provides discounted rates for apprentices during the term of their apprenticeship, as well as training, workplace and employment advice, representation in disciplinary or grievance cases, legal advice and discounts on services and at selected retailer.
