Former Jersey police officer arrested for alleged grooming offences

A FORMER States police officer has been arrested on suspicion of sexual offences and grooming, the JEP can reveal.

The woman was questioned last month in relation to what this newspaper understands to be alleged offences involving a teenager.

She was questioned at the States police headquarters and has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.

The woman has not been charged with any offence.

In a statement, the force said: “On Thursday 22 February, States of Jersey Police arrested a female former States of Jersey police officer at a private address in Jersey on suspicion of grooming and sexual offences.

“As this is an ongoing investigation, no further comment can be made at this time.”

It is not clear whether any of the alleged offences are said to have occurred while the suspect was employed as a serving police officer.
