Five accidents on Jersey's roads in icy conditions

THERE were five accidents on Jersey’s roads in icy conditions this morning, according to the States police – but no Islanders suffered injuries.

Jersey Met issued a yellow ice and snow warning on Monday evening, which was upgraded to an orange warning this morning.

The States police urged road users to take care and to consider whether their journeys were necessary.

At 6.18am, a blue VW Polo slipped on ice along Rue de la Capelle, St Ouen.

At 7.56am, in Hansford Lane by St Andrew’s Park, there was a collision between a black 125 motorcycle and a white Suzuki van.

At 9am in St Peter, on Route des Augres, there was a collision between a white Mercedes and silver Nissan Micra, while five minutes later in St Brelade on La Route des Genets near the Silver Springs Care Home, there was an accident involving a silver Audi and silver Suzuki.

A silver Audi and grey Toyota were involved in a collision on Tower Road.

The States police confirmed no one was injured in any of the incidents.
