JERSEY Electricity has warned Islanders about a telephone scam.
Posting on social media, the utility company said that “scammers are falsely claiming to be from Jersey Electricity”.
It advised customers of the following:
– Do not provide personal information or agree to services from unsolicited callers.
– Jersey Electricity does not arrange unsolicited home visits via telephone.
– If you receive such a call, end the conversation immediately.
“For any service or maintenance queries, always contact Jersey Electricity directly through our official channels,” the post continued.
“Your security is our priority. Help us keep our community safe by reporting any suspicious activities to us and the local authorities.”
