A FUNDRAISER has been set up to help the St Clement families who lost their homes and belongings in Storm Ciarán.

The parish bore the brunt of the storm, with a tornado causing what residents described as “total devastation”.

Damage was particularly severe around FB Fields, Grève d’Azette and Rue des Prés.

More than 150 people are currently in hotels after being forced to leave their homes.

St Clement Constable Marcus Troy has now set up an emergency online fundraiser to assist parishioners, and is also collecting donations via the Parish Hall and bank account.

The aim is to raise £10,000. Almost £4,000 had been pledged by Sunday afternoon.

Mr Troy said: “Your donations will make a huge difference to those who have suffered damage to properties and lost their belongings.”.
