TWO young local musicians have been credited as co-writers on the latest single of Irish girl group B*witched.

B*Witched – Lindsay Armaou, Edele Lynch, Keavy Lynch and Sinéad O’Carroll – announced their new song, ‘Birthday’, on International Women’s Day last week.

The track was written by young Jersey musicians Danni Le Feuvre and Hamish Brodie, alongside accomplished songwriter Ray Hedges, who has written or produced over 60 top-20 singles and albums, including seven UK number-ones.

Mr Hedges has worked with a diverse selection of artists throughout his career including Westlife, Boyzone, Take That, Tom Jones and Boy George.

Both Mr Brodie and Miss Le Feuvre grew up in Jersey, before leaving the Island to study at performing arts schools in the UK.

Mr Brodie was a joint winner of the Child of the Year award at the JEP Pride of Jersey Awards in 2021. He now studies music at The BRIT School in London, after receiving ArtHouse Jersey’s Olive Brown Bursary last year.

Miss Le Feuvre is now based back in Jersey after graduating from the three-year musical theatre course at Urdang, a performing arts academy in Islington, in 2019.

Sharing the song online, B*witched said: ‘We hope you love it as much as we do and enjoy dancing along to it.’

Birthday is the girl group’s first single in four years since a cover of Wilson Phillips’s ‘Hold On’.

The track will also appear on their upcoming album ‘C’est La Vie: The Collection’, which is due to be released this year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut album.
