A 24-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court charged with driving offences following a crash on Colomberie on Sunday night which left three pedestrians requiring hospital treatment.

James Arnold appeared at the Magistrate’s Court charged with driving without due care and attention while under the influence of alcohol. He is also facing a further charge of resisting arrest.

Emergency services were called to Colomberie on Sunday evening. A 71-year-old woman and two men (aged 28 and 35) were taken to the Emergency Department for treatment while a fourth pedestrian – a 71-year-old man – escaped unharmed.

The case was deemed too serious to be dealt with by the Magistrate’s Court. Mr Arnold is due to appear before the Royal Court on 28 April.

He was remanded on bail on the condition that he resides at his home address. The Magistrate’s Court also disqualified him from driving on an interim basis pending the outcome of the case.
