Business owner offers thief caught on CCTV chance to return bakery’s cash box

A CASH box at a St Lawrence honesty stall was stolen over the weekend, according to the business’s owner.

Daisy’s Country Bakes, which first opened in 2020 and sells baked goods, had its cash box ripped out of the wall.

Daisy Larbalestier was pursuing a career as a chef and working in Michelin Star restaurants when she set up the operation after finding herself unemployed during the Covid-19 pandemic and decided to follow her passion and start her own venture.

A post published on Sunday on the Daisy’s Country Bakes Facebook page read: ‘I’ve just made a very sad discovery that my cash box has been ripped off the wall of the Honesty Hut.

‘I have this on CCTV. I am giving you this opportunity to anonymously return it (with the contents) to the hut in a bag and I won’t report you to the police.

‘Sadly due to this I will only be taking bank transfer and Revolut for the time being (details displayed in the hut) so I really do apologise for this inconvenience. It’s very sad those few dishonest people have to ruin it for others.’

The message drew replies of support from friends and customers.
