Over £400,000 available to community organisations and charities – but only days left to apply for it

ORGANISATIONS hoping to gain funding from the Jersey Community Foundation have until this weekend to apply for the upcoming round of grants.

Charities and organisations have until 2 October to apply for a portion of the £422,890. The funding is designed to help projects thrive amidst a cost of living crisis.

The funding is split into broad community themed funds. These are: heritage, arts, science, sports and active lifestyle. The current maximum grant size is £50,000 per applicant per financial year.

Anna Terry, chief executive of the Jersey Community Foundation, said: ‘While we continue to fund charities that are supporting the community during the cost of living crisis, we also wish to stress the value of organisations whose goals are to uplift, enrich and advance our community during these difficult financial times.

‘These community driven groups, often run on very lean budgets, operating on the smallest of margins, prioritise benefit to community over any profit. The cost of living crisis, and indeed Covid, has served to intensify this challenge and we want to ensure community projects, charities and initiatives do not suffer as a result.’
