THE glamorous lives of models, social-media stars and Love Island contestants may seem a world away from a dairy farm in St Saviour…

But a new online reality show launching today sees Islander Becky Houzé putting six ‘influencers’ through their paces alongside her cows at Lodge Farm.

Miss Houzé has gathered a significant following online through her JerseyCowgirl pages on Instagram and TikTok – where she has 61,000 and 114,000 followers respectively – through which she uploads videos about her life as a farmer.

And now she has teamed up with streaming platform OFTV for a new show – Model Farmers – in which she guides a cast of online creators through cleaning out cow sheds, milking duties and looking after the animals.

In true Jersey style one episode will see the models attempt to guide the 200-strong herd across a busy country road.

The show will stream on the OFTV app – an offshoot of the Only Fans site, which is known for its explicit content.

Miss Houzé said that she was apprehensive about joining the site due to its X-rated reputation but that she had been persuaded by its attempts to diversify its content by providing a platform for video creators.

‘I have quite a large Instagram and TikTok following and my main reason for using social media is to share my life on the farm,’ she said. ‘I have to admit I was a bit dubious to begin with, but there are a lot of people using Only Fans for non-explicit content.

‘I was reassured that whatever I posted is in my control and that only things I have signed off can be posted.

‘Only Fans is trying to get rid of the stigma and encourage other content creators to come on their platform. That is what they have done with me.’

She added that she hoped she would be able to earn more by growing her online presence through her various channels and videos.

‘I started the social-media accounts to share my life on the farm. I have never been one to share my personal life – I think sometimes people share a little too much on social media. But this is an opportunity I could not miss and I’ll hopefully be able to earn a little more from my videos and content – especially if I want to carry on farming and living in Jersey, as farming is not the most lucrative industry. I see it as an extra income to keep doing what I enjoy.’

The eight-part series features former Love Island contestants Danielle Sellers, Shannon Singh and Jessie Wynter, who appeared on the Australian version of the show, as well as model Daisy Taylor, fitness influencer Grace Moore and lifestyle blogger Shani Jamilah.

Miss Houzé, who is in London today for the premiere of the series, said: ‘It was a very interesting ten days – very hectic. We were filming full time and I was still doing all my normal jobs in between.

‘I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I thought they might be playing up to the cameras and moaning about it all. There was a little bit of moaning, especially about the smells, but they did get their nails dirty and gave everything a go.’

Miss Houzé, who has twice been a finalist in the JEP Pride of Jersey Awards, said that she hoped the show would promote farming to a wider audience while also giving people a greater appreciation for the agriculture industry.

OFTV is a free app that is available on mobile devices and smart TVs.
