A DOG was rescued by firefighters after falling down a cliff on Jersey’s north-west coast.

A crew from the Fire and Rescue Service used rope rescue equipment to pull the dog to safety, just before it was covered by the tide.

The animal suffered ‘extensive injuries’ following the fall at Les Landes at about 10.30am on Wednesday and was taken to a nearby vets by the JSPCA.

In a Facebook post, the Fire and Rescue Service urged dog owners to ‘consider keeping dogs on a leash while near unguarded drops’.
