THE Havre des Pas roadworks have finished ahead of schedule and the road has now reopened.

The work, which began in early January, has caused long tailbacks during the morning and evening rush hours.

The project was briefly halted at the end of last month due to a shortage of asphalt.

In a statement, the government said: ‘Resurfacing work at Havre des Pas has finished nearly two weeks ahead of schedule and the road has therefore re-opened this afternoon.

‘Thank you for your patience during the project, which included the installation of raised tables along with pedestrian crossing improvements.’
