Two healthcare workers mark what should have been their wedding day – by going to work

But, in an effort to keep Saturday 30 May special, paramedic Nathan Judge gave his bride-to-be Charlotte Medcalf – a healthcare assistant – a lift to work while wearing his wedding jacket and bearing flowers.

And there were some treats in store during their shifts thanks to a local shop, which sent them a surprise hamper.

The couple, who had to postpone the wedding due to Covid-19, had ordered Colin and Connie birthday cakes from Marks & Spencer instead of a wedding cake. So when the company heard about their wedding being postponed, they decided to send a hamper for them to the Hospital.

Miss Medcalf said: ‘As a family, we always use Colin for our birthdays so it made perfect sense to have him and his beautiful bride at our big day. We’ve been to lots of weddings where we’ve had great wedding cake, however they’re all quite similar so we decided to be more unique and hope everyone will remember our lovely Colin and Connie cakes.’

The couple now hope to be able to tie the knot at the same time next year.
