Firefighters were called out to extinguish a blaze in the Euro bin near St Brelade’s Church at about 8pm on Wednesday.
Following an inspection, a discarded disposable barbecue was found to be the likely cause of the fire.
Two hours later, the same crew were called out to deal with a fire in a Euro bin at Long Beach car park in Grouville.
Jersey Fire and Rescue said people should cool barbecues with water before disposing of them.
