It’s not all doom and gloom – the sun’s out

But there is now a slither of good news from an unexpected source… the weather.

After six months of cloud, rain, fog and general gloom the sun is finally coming out, and it may hang around for quite some time. This week is expected to be mainly dry and sunny (with a minor blip later on Thursday and into Friday) with temperatures climbing into the mid-teens.

Today was due to be dry and sunny with the mercury reaching 13°C. It will be a degree milder tomorrow and temperatures are expected to largely remain above average for at least the next six days.

John Searson, principal meteorologist at Jersey Met, said: ‘This week will be the first week since the beginning of September where it looks like being predominantly dry.

‘We are going to see a great deal of sunshine and temperatures will be on the higher side of normal.

‘There may be some rain around on Friday, and this may be thundery, but after that it looks like high pressure will re-establish itself and we will see a return to dry and settled conditions for early next week.’
