Former teacher Beryl Le Gros lived her whole life in Jersey and spent her final years in the Maison La Corderie care home in St Helier.
Speaking to the JEP in 2017, the great-great-grandmother said that while she did not necessarily have a secret to a long life, she still liked a regular glass of Baileys and a sweet treat or two – particularly chocolate-chip cookies.
In an interview two years earlier, she described how she had enjoyed seeing Jersey change over the years. ‘I think Jersey is still a very lovely place.
‘There are some people who say that they would not come to the Island as there is nothing worth coming here for. They are very mistaken,’ she said.
