Man accused of threatening to kill passenger while clinging to car roof

It is alleged that Mathew Scott Misson (32), of Le Marais, Rue de Maupertuis, St Clement, had jumped on the car, hit the bodywork of the green BMW and made threats to kill one of the people inside the vehicle.

He is accused of being on the roof while the vehicle was driven down Longueville Road and Bagot Road from Clos Gosset housing estate to Howard Davis Park.

The defendant is charged with making an affray at Clos Gosset at about 10 pm on Tuesday 24 April.

The Magistrate, Bridget Shaw, told Mr Misson that his lawyer, Advocate Catriona Fogarty, did not have all the papers available to give him the necessary legal advice required at this stage.

Mrs Shaw told the defendant that the court would have to decide if the matter could stay in the lower court or if it should go to Royal Court. She also told him he would need to enter a plea at his next appearance.

The defendant was remanded in custody and is due to next appear in court on 14 May.
