The incident is not related to the ongoing Resilient Islands emergency exercise currently being carried out.
In a statement issued shortly before noon the States police said the Avenue would be closed for around an hour. The Airport has been affected by fog.
‘We ask that members of the public stay away from the area and we will update when roads are open,’ the police said. ‘This is not part of the exercise.’
