William (five) raises £260 for Age Concern by selling reindeer food

The five-year-old Springfield School pupil has been busy creating the special mix of porridge oats and glitter which is sprinkled on the lawn on Christmas Eve for reindeer to eat.

And he has raised more than £260 for Age Concern Jersey after visiting local businesses dressed as Rudolph to sell the food packages.

William says that he decided to embark on his festive enterprise after helping the charity with their Christmas Hamper Campaign, which asks Islanders to donate tinned and dried food.

‘I wanted to make the reindeer food because I wanted to raise money to help people’ he added. ‘I think it’s important to help people because they need food and money.

Magic reindeer food can be bought at Springfield Stadium.
