Keith Halstead, event director for Ice Skate Jersey, says that he was not told about the addition of an ice rink at the planned Arctic Village, which is due to be run by the States-owned Jersey Development Company, Airtel-Vodafone and the Parish of St Helier from 24 November to 8 January.
He says he was left to read about it in the JEP and that as the Island cannot sustain two ice rinks, Ice Skate Jersey has this year decided to cancel its facility, which has been run annually since 2010.
And Mr Halstead warned that businesses at Fort Regent and the complex itself would suffer as a result.
