Maison de la Valette in Trinity had been up for sale with a £25 million asking price but has now been taken off the market.
Clifford Wilson, directors of Wilsons estate agents, which is working with London-based estate agent Knight Frank, confirmed that the deal is in its final stages.
When asked whether the house would be the most expensive sold in Jersey, Mr Wilson added: ‘Most certainly.
There is speculation about who is behind the record-breaking bid.
