By-election 2016: Candidates answer our questions

Dr Cameron won her seat at the 2014 general election after campaigning on a platform of reform within Jersey’s Health Department.

In a result that surprised many, she beat well-known political names, such as Sarah Ferguson, Sean Power and John Young, to become one of the Island’s eight Senators and even polled higher than established figures Senators Philip Ozouf and Lyndon Farnham.

Just 21 months later, she announced her intention to give up the role and in a parting shot to ministers accused them of ‘not answering emails’, ‘not listening’ and failing to address abuse issues.

Shortly after her resignation, it was announced that a by-election would be held to replace her in the role of Senator.
