Timothy John Luce, who served as a Constable’s Officer in St John for nine years until he stood down after being arrested earlier this year, sent the non-indecent images to groups who use a messaging service to view and distribute pictures of under-age children.

And he told other online predators that he was sexually interested in the victims he had photographed. It is not known how many pictures of Jersey girls he took and how many are still online.

The 42-year-old also downloaded 1,731 indecent images and movies of children and used the messaging service called KiK to distribute some of the pictures and discuss the viewing of images of under-age children.

On Tuesday he was jailed for three years by the Royal Court after admitting three counts of making indecent images of children and one count of distributing 12 images online.
