During oral questions, Deputy Kevin Lewis is due to question the minister about recent reports that the starting salaries for newly qualified teachers in Jersey could be cut by as much as £11,000.

Deputy Geoff Southern will also ask how much of the planned additional spending in his department over the next few years will be used to pay for increasing student numbers and the St Helier Member is also due to ask Deputy Bryans for more details about the extra £2 million which has been earmarked to help Jersey students who wish to go to university.

Deputy David Johnson is also due to ask Treasury Minister Alan Maclean whether he would consider introducing a tax on Jersey properties owned by landlords living outside the Island if they were not rented out.
