A BLANK wall at one of St Helier’s busiest car parks is set to be transformed into a new piece of public artwork.

The Infrastructure and Environment Department and The Marketing Bureau have commissioned local specialists WallPrints to create a 3D display at Sand Street car park.

The hope is that the artwork, which will appear on a street-level wall, will add a creative touch to a space used daily by hundreds of Islanders.

“Car parks are places we all use. The project is about adding a touch of creativity to everyday life,” Julie Littlemore, director of The Marketing Bureau, said.

“We’re excited to see a blank wall become something vibrant that people can enjoy, even if it’s just for a moment in their day.”

The piece will be produced by WallPrints using printing technology known as a Wallpen, which the company said would allows the work to be completed in a matter of hours, creating a durable 3D image.

Tristen Dodd, head of Transport, Highways and Infrastructure, said the project showed how technology and local collaboration could enhance public spaces.

“It’s wonderful to see public spaces being brightened in new and innovative ways,” he said.

“By embracing new technology and working with local businesses, we can create environments that feel more welcoming and visually engaging for the community.”

WallPrints director George Adams said the company was pleased to be involved in the project and hoped it would bring “a fresh and exciting dimension to Jersey”.
