French war dead remembered

On the first day of a two-day visit to the Island on Wednesday Sylvie Bermann laid the wreath at St Thomas’ Church, after which she attended a reception for French nationals at the Town Hall.

During her visit she also met the Bailiff, William Bailhache, Chief Minister Ian Gorst and External Relations Minister Sir Philip Bailhache.

In addition, during her stay the ambassador met representatives of the business and finance industries and was be the guest of honour at a dinner hosted by the Bailiff.
