Pablo is known for being the face of a JT advertising campaign, and is often found sporting a high-visibility jacket while visiting construction sites with his owner or swimming in the sea wearing a doggy life-jacket.
The four-year-old dog lost the use of his legs last week and his owners, Clare Derrien (33) and Luke Kirwin (39), were told by vets that he needed immediate treatment for the best possible outcome, so he was flown on a private plane – which was donated free-of-charge by a family friend – to Bournemouth, where he was given an MRI scan and was operated on the same day.
Since then a fundraising page has been set up to help with the cost of Pablo’s treatment and a total of £2,500 has been donated by Islanders to put towards the £5,000 vet bill.
