Cyber-crime centre of excellence is launched

The Small Island Nations Centre of Excellence for Research and Education (SINCERE) is being paid for using £250,000 of European Union funding secured for the project over the next two years.

It will be based on other EU centres of excellence, which incorporate law enforcement, academia and industry.

Speaking about the network, Home Affairs Minister Kristina Moore said: ‘Cyber-crime has no boundaries or borders, so developing and investing in our infrastructure, involving not only common standards but training, research and education, is necessary to protect our communities from the threat of cyber-crime.’
