Dolphin strays into the Harbour

The British Divers Marine Life Rescue unit, New Era vet John Hamilton and staff from the States Fisheries Department spent time monitoring the creature, which is thought to be a juvenile common dolphin that would still be dependent on its mother.

It is thought that the animal became separated from its pod in recent stormy weather.

Islanders were later asked to avoid the Harbour in order to keep the surrounding environment calm in the hope that the dolphin would find its way back out to sea.
