While professionals utilise hi-tech equipment in an effort to trace the 20-year-old, who has been missing since the early hours of last Saturday, many members of the public have been giving up their free time to search the Island from east to west.
A co-ordinating hub has been operating out of the side of Islander Simon Dodkins’ camper van in the car park of the Living Legend. From there volunteers are issued with shaded maps of the Island and designated areas to focus on.
The co-ordinated volunteer searches have so far covered areas in 11 of the 12 parishes, including as far west as the headland around Grosnez and Plémont.
Several people, including Mr Lynch’s mother and chef Shaun Rankin, have donated food and drinks to volunteers who have been searching late into the night.
