Over the past decade, the initiative – which sees volunteers collecting trees from local homes and businesses in early January in exchange for donations – has raised over £175,000, and last year more than 2,000 trees were collected.
This year, the scheme is being sponsored by the Aztec Group and supported by the Jersey Evening Post. And with more than 7,500 real trees sold in the Island every Christmas, it is hoped that more trees than ever will be collected and recycled.
To commemorate the anniversary, the JEP is also asking Islanders to send in pictures of their Christmas trees and will be publishing the photos in the run-up to Christmas. Find out more here or use the form below to upload your pictures.
