The pass rate for the £50 test has fallen each year since 2011 and is now 30 per cent lower than it was three years ago.

So far in 2014, there have been 125 tests, with 61 people passing and 64 failing.

In comparison, 72 tests were booked and 57 passed in 2011.

The falling pass rate comes as a recent survey conducted in the UK revealed that less than half of British citizens aged 18-24 would pass the test.
