The doctor, who is also an author and public speaker, will be part of a team from the company Hidden Hearing and will be discussing medical matters, including hearing problems.

The show’s director, Julie Settle, said that they were delighted that Dr Jones would be taking part in the event, which was formerly called the Homelife Show.

She said that this year’s show would include a number of attractions which would be of interest to families.

‘We will have a crèche for little children, and a range of games with large screens including Scalextric fast laps contests, PS 5 games and Wii competitions,’ she said.

The stage kitchen in the Gloucester Hall will be the focus of a series of cookery demonstrations led by Grand Jersey’s head chef, Richard Allen, which will be relayed on a big screen.

Mr Allen has been the executive head chef at Grand Jersey’s Michelin starred restaurant Tassili since 2007.

After only six months at the hotel he was awarded three AA rosettes for Tassili and has retained them for three consecutive years.

More recently, he was recognised in Debrett’s 2012 People of Today list after securing the Michelin star in October 2011.

There will also be a range of demonstrations, including sushi and cocktail making.

Mrs Settle said that last year’s show in Guernsey had been attended by around 8,000 people and been a big success.

‘The consumer spend in Guernsey was high, and some of those who had stands have booked to take part in this year’s show at Fort Regent,’ she said.

Information about the event is available from Mrs Settle on 07797 740913.
