Thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused on Saturday when the exceptionally high tide and strong southerly winds sent waves crashing over seawalls and surging into roads – many of which had been closed in advance following severe weather warnings.
Within minutes of high tide on Saturday morning areas at St Aubin, Beaumont and Havre des Pas were under water. Further high tides on Saturday night and Sunday morning were less severe but still sent waves crashing over the sea wall.
