Deputy Andrew Green also said that there were plans to build an underground car park with 200 ‘much-needed’ public spaces at the site, as well as over-ground parking for residents.

He said all of the properties would be offered to Islanders on the affordable gateway waiting list, which is the single access point for all residents wishing to move into affordable housing or transfer within existing social housing stock. Deputy Green said that there were currently 700 families on the list.

The Minister was responding to a question in the States from Senator Alan Breckon, who asked why Deputy Green was willing to sell the Ann Court site.

Ownership of Ann Court was transferred to the Treasury department from Housing in August, and Treasury is currently in discussions with the Jersey Homes Trust to decide the future of the site.
