Firefighters were met with thick smoke coming from a window of the building at the rear of Canning Court when they attended at around 12.30 pm.
The area was cordoned off and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly extinguished the fire.
The rest of the building, which consists of further storage areas and flats were checked for any damage.
The States Police are now investigating the cause.
