On the same day that he confirmed that £27 million would be spent on refurbishing and building social housing, the Senator praised the recent Trinity scheme which is creating 43 homes for first-time buyers with parish connections.

His comments come as young people are finding it harder than ever to get onto the housing ladder, with house prices still well out of the reach of most young families.
