A LOCAL charity which supports Islanders with brain injuries has appointed a new chief executive.
Headway Jersey has appointed Dr Lisa Perkins as part of an “exciting new chapter” for the charity.
The appointment is expected to help the charity – which provides rehabilitation, community support and advocacy to Islanders living with brain injury – navigate its “next phase of growth and restructure”.
Dr Perkins arrives to the role with more than 25 years of senior leadership experience, having most recently served as head of the Children & Families Hub within the Government of Jersey.
Her experience in health and social care also includes a BSc (Hons) in Speech & Psychology and a PhD in Acquired Language Disorder.
In a statement, she described being “honoured” to “contribute to the vital work this charity provides rebuilding lives after brain injury.”
Dr Perkins added: “I look forward to working alongside the dedicated team, volunteers, and supporters to strengthen our impact and ensure that every person affected by brain injury receives the care and support they deserve.”
Treasurer of Headway Jersey Julia Quenault said: “We are thrilled to welcome Dr Perkins to the organisation. Her expertise, compassion, and strategic leadership will play a key role in helping Headway Jersey continue evolving and improving the support we offer to our members.”
