The North of Town Masterplan was given overwhelming backing by Members, who all shared the vision of returning the area to its 1840s heyday when it was one of the most sought after locations in the Island.
Although it is a 30-year plan, much of the work will be delivered a lot sooner with work due to begin on developing sites like Ann Court and the former Jersey College for Girls next year.
As well as plans for houses and apartments at the former Jersey College for Girls site, the plan also includes the development of 100 affordable homes at Ann Court and residential units at sites such as Jersey Gas, Minden Place and the former Ann Street Brewery.
