Former Senators Reg Jeune and Pierre Horsfall have signed the petition, which calls the States agreement to remove two Senators at the next election ‘an infringement on the democratic rights of the electors of this Island’.
Organiser Lyndon Farnham – who himself is likely to be a candidate for election in October – says that he wants to get as many signatures as quickly as possible, because time is short if they are going to get the decision over-turned.
He says that the petition will be available to sign in town on Saturdays at a location yet to be decided.
