Saturday’s hugely-successful 9-3 win against a Sussex Select at the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel attracted another full house at the club’s first home tournament fro 18 months.
Thompson, who is now back coaching at the gym following illness, said: ‘Amateur boxing in Jersey has always been supported well by the public but it is very difficult to get sponsorship and I’d love to see that change.
‘It’s very expensive to put on a tournament and I’m appealing for financial institutions and business houses to come and support us financially so that we can put more tournament nights on.’
