In her semi-final shoot against Andrea Gales, O’Sullivan (19), who won this 2,000 dollar event last year, was tied at 5-5 after ten compulsory sets.

This led to a tie-breaker of a minute’s intense activity as the two women could shoot as many arrows as they wanted during that time at the target 70m away. The closest to the middle went through to the final.

‘She got an X and I got a ten. So after that I was shooting for third place only,’ a cheerful O’Sullivan said last night. ‘But I’m not too unhappy.’
