Player-coach and centre Simon Martin who badly dislocated his shoulder in Taunton’s win against Bridgwater in the semi-final of the Somerset County Cup will not be there.

Leading try-scorer, Charlie Walker-Blair, 6ft 4in tall and one of the main reasons why Taunton won 46 league games in a row this season and last, may well not be there as he recovers from damaged knee ligaments, while Taunton’s Director of Rugby, Lee Waddon, is counting the injuries that have recently beset his team.

‘Simon’s absence is a great loss to us,’ he said. ‘He has been instrumental in Taunton RFC’s success over the past three years, both as a player and coach, winning two league campaigns, the Somerset County Cup, and the BBC Team of the Year award.
