Delegations from across the country are expected to travel to the Island for next Saturday’s protest march which was called earlier this month by Jersey’s biggest teaching union, the NASUWT, at its annual conference.
Hundreds of other public sector workers are also likely to take part and Ron Clooney, NASUWT executive member for Jersey, said that ‘thousands’ of UK teachers could turn up.
A group on the social networking website, Facebook, has been set up in support of Jersey teachers and a number of UK teachers have already confirmed their attendance at the march on the site.
